Anethesia and Analgesia in Swine
Anesthesia and analgesia is frequently required for swine in research due to the nature of the invasive procedures that are performed. Their use as preclinical models (translational research) frequently involves surgical implantation of devices, major invasive surgery and creation of disease conditions, such as heart failure.
Pharmacokinetic Evaluation of Colchicine and Hydrochlorothiazide in Sinclair and Gottingen Miniature Swine
The objective of this study was to determine and compare plasma pharmacokinetic profiles of two compounds with very different elimination pathways, colchicine and hydrochlorothiazide, in Sinclair and Gottingen minipig. Hydrochlorothiazide not metabolized, mostly excreted in urine.

Minipig Model of Atopic Dermatitis: Assessment of In Vivo & In Vitro Activity of Recombinant Porcine Interleukin-4 & Interleukin-13
Assessment of recombinant IL-4 and IL-13 in Hanford minipigs demonstrated IL-4-driven immune activity and mild dermal inflammation, informing further development of a minipig model of atopic dermatitis.
Identification of immunophenotyping biomarkers & characterization of peripheral blood lymphocytes populations distribution in minipigs
Development of a flow-cytometry biomarker panel characterized major peripheral blood immune-cell populations and breed-related differences across Hanford, Yucatan, Sinclair, and Göttingen minipigs.
