This study measured and compared the histologic skin thickness of Yucatan miniature swine across different body regions, age groups, and genders to provide detailed baseline data relevant for biomedical research, especially for studies involving drug absorption, wound healing, or dermatology. The results show that skin thickness varies by body site, age, and gender, and that overall Yucatan skin thickness closely resembles human skin, with dermis being the largest component of total skin thickness.
